Al-Bustan Artist Workshop Program: Al-Bustan is looking for teaching artists with a skill to share with our community. The Al-Bustan Artist Workshop Program will pilot at our hub this fall, with workshops running one day a week for approximately 4-6 weeks. This opportunity is open to all artists interested in offering workshops fulfilling our mission of uplifting SWANA (South West Asia and North Africa) culture through music, fine art, or artisanal craft. Video News Producer: Al-Bustan News Service is looking for an ambitious video journalist / video news producer to join our team for a six-month Video News Production Fellowship. The Fellow will produce outstanding videos for our news site, covering Arab-American and Southwest Asian and North African (SWANA) communities in the Greater Philadelphia area. We seek an experienced video journalist with camera and video editing skills, strong editorial judgment, a background in news production, strong communication skills, attention to detail, and an ability to identify and pursue local news stories. This position requires a clear understanding of journalistic ethics and standards, with a commitment to factual accuracy, an understanding of deadlines, and the ability to work both independently and with a team. The Fellow will work remotely and report to the Editor of Al-Bustan News Service. School Arab Arts Teaching Artist: Al-Bustan is seeking teaching artists whose work connects to the arts and culture of the Arabic speaking world and the MENA region to join our roster and work with our School Arab Arts program. School Arab Arts (SAA) is an arts education program in partnership with Philadelphia public elementary and middle schools. The aim of SAA is to enrich cross-cultural understanding and celebrate diversity through in-school and after school classes in visual art, music, and other more. The program runs from October to May with classes occurring Mon-Thurs. SAA is open to students grades 3-8 with the occasional exception made for younger students to join. Applicants should have 1-2 years of experience working with grade school students in visual arts, performing arts, or literary arts drawing from Arab culture. Learn More
